Perspective of disappearance

‘Perspective of disappearance,’ is Leonardo da Vinci’s name for the point at which something becomes indistinguishable to the human eye. Da Vinci studied this point in great detail and documented the development of his studies in a notebook also titled ‘Perspective of Disappearance.’ The notebook is an extensive investigation of optics, exploring how visibility (or invisibility) is affected by distance and light.

Perspective of disappearance was originally published in Alien Mouth, March 19, 2016.
